CRAFT Upstream Assurance Scheme

Building Credibility and Inclusion in Mineral Supply Chains with the CRAFT Code

The CRAFT Code has successfully undergone an OECD Alignment Assessment, confirming its consistency with the OECD Minerals Guidance. This recognition strengthens its credibility as a framework standard for Upstream Assurance Mechanisms and facilitates its adoption by industry initiatives like the Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMI). By aligning with international due diligence expectations, the CRAFT Code seamlessly integrates into the risk management processes of smelters and refiners, enhancing its role in responsible mineral sourcing.

To be officially recognized as a CRAFT UA-Scheme, an OECD Alignment Assessment is required for both the scheme’s implementation policies and its governance. Since the CRAFT Code has already undergone this assessment, responsible sourcing schemes that adopt the CRAFT Code as their risk management system will only need to submit their implementation and governance policies for OECD Alignment Assessment, without the need to evaluate the standard again.
